Get Out and Vote!

Voting isn't just our duty, its our privilege. In recognition of that, Starbucks is offering a free cup of coffee to those who vote today. Click the link, watch the video, get out and vote - then pop in for a free cup of joe.

Voting is Divalicious. Do it!

  2. Interesting - in America you have lines that go round the block but here you don't have to even wait a second to get in and cast your vote.... because nobody does!!

Perhaps if we offered sweet snack treats as bait then we'd get a much higher voter turnout too...

    Ciao

  3. Thanks for the reminder about Starbucks, Diva. I just finished my complementary cup! It's a nice added bonus to the wonderful privilege of voting.

  4. Yes and Krispy Kreme is doing something, too. Maybe a free donut? :D

  5. LOL, pixelgal ... I hadn't even thought of that reference. No, no plumbers here! ;)

Scarlet - I think our turn out will actually approach something respectable this time. Its a shame to hear that no one votes in the UK. :(

Well done, bear! I passed on the coffee, since I'm a tea girl ... but I've seen lots of people taking advantage of the offer and that makes me happy.

M.C.U. - You're right, Krispy Kreme is offering a free donut to voters as well. (And I'm gonna have to pass on that as well! LOL)

  7. I'll pass on the Starbucks...it gives me the worst sour stomach ever. :-) After I voted I came home, put my feet up and had myself a patriotic cocktail.

  8. Hey Diva

This is totally off topic but just found out that husband needs bypass surgery so if I'm not around for a while you won't wonder what happened. He is due to be operated on Thursday as long as docs can prepare since he has other health issues they are concerned with. The outlook is good and I am cooking on the beach after all so all should end well. I'll keep you posted.

  9. Deb if you're still reading, they're doing great things with bypass surgery these days. Many of my friends have had successful results, even those with other issues. So keep on doing what you're doing and keep the faith. We're rooting for you and husband.

  10. Oh, Deb, I'm so sorry to hear this news. I join pixelgal in wishing the best for your hubby and will be keeping him (and you) in my prayers. Thanks for letting us know and please keep me posted. I'm relieved that the outlook is good. You are both in my thoughts.

  11. Thanks for your kind thoughts Diva and Pixiegal. No surgery now until Friday his case is complicated by his lack of a left lung from prior surgery for cancer. We are very confident in his team and his own will to get better so with that and your and many other folks good wishes and prayers we are sure he will do well.
